In 1950, he published his first major novel, The Family Moskat. Afterward, he wrote a string of acclaimed short stories, including "Gimpel The Fool." In the 1960s, he wrote the "The Spinoza of Market Street." In 1978, he won the Nobel Prize for Literature. He continued writing until shortly before his death, on July 24, 1991, in Surfside, Florida.  Despite his success in journalism, Singer's passion for literature would not be suppressed. The Necklace By: Guy de Maupassant. Biography: Guy de Maupassant Henri Rene Albert Guy de Maupassant, better known as Guy de Maupassant, who boned in France 5 August 1859, was a french writer, remembered as a master of the short story form, and he was a representative of the naturalist, his stories are charaqcterized by economy of style and efficient. he wrote some 300 short stories, six novels, three travel books and one volumen of verse. His first published story "Ball of Fall" in 1880, os often considered his masterpiece. Despiste his wealth and popularity, Maupassant never married, partly out of fear of being abandoned by loved one as he abandoned with death. Hia afection with syphilis contributed to his growing dementia, and he was intitutionalized after he tried to kill himself in 1891. He died two years later, on July 6, 1893.
